Thought Soup in the Classroom

1

Read and discuss the value of changing our too-spicy thoughts to scrumptious ones.

Perform in class as a Readers’ Theater.

Share your Readers’ Theater performance with other classes.

Produce as a play and invite parents, the school, and the community to watch. This could be a class fund-raiser!

Write your class version of Dream Dessert.

Expand Thought Soup to address intense thoughts like hatred and prejudice. (Lyle Olsen’s version will be titled Thought Soup Too.)

To help students when they need encouragement to think positively, discuss with your class the possibility of using the reminder:

“How’s your Thought Soup tasting today”
